Lonely

Hmmm, this was a pretty good song. The slow piano intro was very nice and the general melody wasnt haf bad either. Hmmm it really is sort of a sad song, get that kinda lonely feel from it. Good piano work throughout and it a very consistent song. But maybe a touch more variation as it seems like only piano. Its missing something kind of.
But its a nice tune and its very relaxing. i liked it. ^_^

Lol!

Well you sent me a Pm asking me to review so here i am! At your request. I liked this better than the Street Life sample you gave us to review before, the rapping really makes a difference to the feel of the track.
The piano is very cool once again with a nice melody, and the steady drum beat is cool.
Unfortunately it still has the same flaw as the sample, the melody needs some more variation to really make it kick, apart from that good audio though.
Definately an improvement on the sample. :) You made the ending better too. Well done!

well, I like simplicity, but everyone's entitled to their own opinions. Well, I like simplicity on rap tracks at any rate. Rap is supposed to be over simple beats, because hip hop emphasises the lyrics. Check out my other stuff, like The AfroBlues, there should be enough complexity in it for you, lol. thanks for the criticism, it helps me gain skillz, lol.

Hmmm

This track sint a bad track but the first 30 second part seems empty, and it feels like the track never quite kicks into it, like its not really enthusiastic enough. You need to variate it a bit more, or make the whole track shorter and cut each section in half. Its too drawn out to be effective.
The only reference to dolphins i cant imagine in this song is the sound of one dying lol. Sorry.
Once you fix it up a bit the track will be better, it has alot of potential.

thanks for taking the time to review :)

i agree with you on everything you have posted here, needs variation and enthusiasm.
it dosent really sound finished.

here really isnt much relation to dolphins musically. i usually just name songs after whatever is in my head at the time:)

Jam Packed

Wow, what a weird feel to it. The speed of the drums are very cool, especially with their variating tones, and the occasional guitar makes this sound good, When the main part kicks in it sounds slightly off quality, id suggest making it less jam packed. Also improve your change overs to be slightly smoother. It was a cool beat though, nice and variated. But i like the way you tryed using as many instruments as possible. I especially liked the clapping hands. Very good.

thank you for taking the time to review:)

theres definatley a lot going on in this tune,
i do generally go for excess in my songs and lots of people find it annoying.
my influence for putting songs together comes from the patton/zappa influence,
so subtlety isnt really my strong point:)

Awesome

The intro sounds like the intro to a horror film, very dark music coupled with a light piano makes this a kinda creepy audio, which gives it atmosphere.. Very good.
I love the great variation in the song and the whole thing sounds fantastic. On another side note i happen to think that the glockenspiel is the most fantastical instrument ever made.
On the note of a vocal addition to this peice, it could work but its fantastic the way it is. 9/10

SolusLunes responds:

Yeah, the instruments lend the song a ton of atmosphere- mainly the low brass, and my beloved glockenspiel. God, I love that instrument. :D

Cooly

First off i like the way it sorta hits right into it from the very start, its got quite a funky beat which i like. The laugh near the start was a bit unnerving but very cool.
The main beat starts to get a bit samey and needs a tad variation, as the voical parts bring the track up the repetativeness brings it down. So work on that.
Overall though its pretty good, just work on variation and also nice loop ^_^

CineGoryP responds:

I have other versions where I do variations with the main beat but it kind of detracts from the general feel of what I originally wanted. It got to the point to where it sounded like I had dual personalities or something.

I hate build-ups so that's why I just went head first into this one and I know the laughing is unnerving... makes it fun :)

Thanks for the review

Hmmm

This is extremely repetative, ok so the drums are pretty cool with a nice steady beat and the bass is whirring in the backround which sounds good but this track needs alot more, more instruments, change of tempo, or as you suggested someone to rap over it.
I thought it was going to speed up after the intro and i was surprised when it didnt. It gets better after about halfway but then it just becomes dull again. Needs work.

Cheers for the review man, it does need work... and work it shall get (after I finish my university work that is). I think i know what I need to do with this now, so I should hopefully be releasing a new version within the next month.

Thanks again for the review (and to everyone at the review request club). James

Saxtastic

This is a brilliant track, the piano intro is superb and is coupled very nicely with the violins that join it, and excellent use of the saxaphone.
Throughout the song the saxaphone is used very well within it and id recommend you use sax again in other pieces. I really like how the whole piece just slows down completely at the end, and not just slops abruptly.
Very Cool

WritersBlock responds:

Thanks for the review. I'm glad you like it. I was just messing around with sounds, and the saxophone really took me by surprise, so I'll probably write more for the sax, although I'll probably look into collaborating with RadioactiveRhino or TheLobsterman, to get a live recorded sax, because that would be cool.

Toxic!

This is a really cool audio, the bass is fantastic and its nice to finally review a track with a decent bass line. Unfortunately some of the other aspects of the song arent as good as the bass. I like how the bass speeds up and gets heavier right at the end to give it an excellent outro. Very Nice.

Assios responds:

I'm glad you liked the bass and the outro, though there's many who didn't like the outro. Thanks for the review!

Pretty Sweet.

This is a pretty cool audio, it has a nice beat to it and i like the variety within in the track. The chimes every now and again are a nice touch and i like the variation at 2.10, it provides something completely different to the rest of the track. Keep up the good work.
